Hip Hop

The hip hop game has grown ridiculously even recently. The goal of this blog is more to spread the word of some up and coming rappers rather than post whats on top of the pop charts. I'll throw in some big names here and there but you'll also see a lot of the unsigned guys who can really spit. If you have suggestions of up and coming rappers email me at rmarshall24@aol.com. Now sit back, chill, and listen to these flows.

Huey Mack - I Can Be

Huey Mack reached the 5k followers mark on twitter so he dropped this track in honor of the milestone. Its a real chill, yet motivated track. I really dig it but I'm also a big Huey Mack fan. Its his first work since his mixtape, Freshman 15, was released. You can find the Freshman 15 on this site here. Check this one out below.

Mac Miller - Family First ft. Talib Kweli

Mac Miller hit 500 thousand followers on twitter yesterday and dropped this track in celebration. Its a collab with Talib Kweli and it has a very chill, relaxed beat to it. Its not his greatest creation but its a good song to chill out too. Check it out.

Wale - I'm On One Freestyle

This track was just dropped and it's a freestyle by Wale over the beat to DJ Khaled's I'm On One. I know I've got four hip hop posts in a row now but i'll get back to the other genres quick too, no worries. Wale goes hard on this freestyle as expected. Listen up.

CyHi da Prynce - Royal Flush 2

CyHi da Prynce is rapper who was recently signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music record label. He has a real G feel to his work but is still clever with his lines and rhymes, which is hard to come by. This mixtape is straight awesome, I'm impressed. If you are a fan of hip hop music at all you need to check this guy out this is a quality mixtape. Enjoy.

Eddy B & Tim Gunter - Nowhere to Go

This is another quality track from the duo Eddy B & Tim Gunter. Gunter produces a sweet beat and Eddy B brings the rap. I posted their song Graduation previously and wanted to show them some more love here. This song isn't brand new but they just dropped the video for it, their first music video. You can check out the video here. This is a nice track I'm a fan of these guys check it out.

Lil Wayne - Dear Anne (Stan Part 2)

Everybody loves to jam out to some Lil Wayne. His highly anticipated Tha Carter IV is on the way but this track will not be on it so get it here. This is a remake of Eminem's classic song Stan. This is a real chill song with some good flow from Weezy. Check it out.

Spodee - Feet Don't Fail Me ft. T.I. and B.o.B

Spodee is the newest member to sign with the Grand Hustle record label. He just released a free mixtape that can be downloaded here. I'm not featuring his whole mixtape because the DJ tags basically ruin most of it. I did want to spread this song to show this guys flow. This track was also on B.o.B's latest mixtape, No Genre. I wanted to post it to get the word out about Spodee cause he can really spit too. He gets some help from the big names of Grand Hustle on this one including The King himself, T.I. This is a quality, chill hip hop song, check it out.

Gym Class Heroes ft. Adam Levine - Stereo Hearts

Gym Class Heroes has reunited and released a track together featuring Adam Levine of Maroon 5. Its called Stereo Hearts and its going to be all over the radio so get it here first. The song has a catchy chorus and good flow from Travie McCoy so check it out and know it before your friends do.

Black Cobain ft. Wale - Busy Now

Black Cobain is an upcoming rapper and is supported again in this track by Wale. Its a chill song with a nice sample. Black Cobain has a nice flow in this one and Wale brings it as well later in the song. This track was released yesterday and will be on Cobain's new mixtape. Check this.

Eddy B & Tim Gunter - Graduation

Heres a jam for anyone who just graduated. I just graduated and am pumped for college myself so I'm digging this song. Eddy B & Tim Gunter are the duo who made this track and it features That Kid C-G. This is the first I've heard of them but I am pretty impressed. Congrats to everyone who graduated.

Sam Adams - Watch Out

All right so this song basically embodies what this site is all about. Its a fresh hip hop song with a sick dubstep beat. Sam Adams got his break with his remix to Asher Roth's I Love College and has been very successful since in a mainstream game that is unkind to white rappers. He's been back on his underground game recently and just dropped this banger. This song is dirty. Listen good.

Chiddy Bang - Peanut Butter and Swelly

Chiddy Bang is still in the mixtape game after success on the charts. Their most famous for their song Opposite of Adults which samples MGMT's Kids. The duo brings it again on their second mixtape Peanut Butter and Swelly. Download and enjoy this chill mixtape.

Huey Mack - Freshman 15

Huey Mack is one of my favorite unsigned, young rappers. He recently dropped his 3rd mixtape, Freshman 15. He has really progressed as an all around rapper in each mixtape and still is not as well known as many other college rappers. If you haven't heard him, check out the Freshman 15.

Chris Webby - Webster's Laboratory

Webby is an established college rapper with many mixtapes out. He's back in the lab making music, no pun intended. Heres his latest mixtape that proves why his previous mixtapes have been successful and why he has a large underground fan base as an unsigned rapper.
